UEKI: Terms and Conditions
Version 2.0 · Last updated: October 19, 2026
1. Who provides the service and acceptance of these terms
UEKI (the "App") is provided by Matías Socolinsky, an individual based in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina ("we", "us" or the "Provider"). By creating an account or using the App, you accept these Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") and the Privacy Policy, which is part of them.
If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the App. Each version of these Terms has a number. When they change in a relevant way, the App will ask you to accept the new version.
2. What UEKI is and how it works
UEKI is a collaborative app for finding free on-street parking spots. When someone sees a free spot (for example, the one they leave when driving away), they report it, and everyone else sees it on a real-time map. We are starting in the City of Buenos Aires, but use of the App is not limited to any city or country.
A spot can be reported in two ways:
- Manually, with the report button, at any time. It reports the position where you are.
- With automatic detection. While the App is open, it can detect that you arrived by car, stayed parked for a while and then left. When that happens, it asks you whether you want to report the spot as free, and it only reports it if you say yes.
Reported spots expire on their own after a few minutes. They may disappear sooner if other people mark them as taken. To mark a spot as taken, you need to be close to it.
You can also vote on whether a spot reported by someone else was actually free (👍 / 👎). Based on those votes, the App shows the reputation of whoever reported each spot, for information purposes only.
Anyone can see the free spots on the map, even without an account. You need an account to report spots, vote or mark them as taken.
The service is free of charge. You are responsible for your internet connection and for any data charges that using the App may generate.
3. Minimum age and account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You can create an account with your email address or with your Google account. The information you give us when signing up must be true, and each person may have only one account.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for anything done from your account. If you think someone accessed your account without your permission, let us know as soon as possible. If we find out that an account belongs to someone who does not meet these requirements, we may delete it.
4. License to use the App and restrictions
We grant you a personal, free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the App on your device, for personal and non-commercial purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the App, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Access the App or its data with automated systems (bots, scrapers) or bulk-download the reported spots.
- Use the App or its data to build a competing service or for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Interfere with the operation of the App, its servers or its security measures.
- Try to access other people's data.
- Use the App to commit fraud or any other unlawful activity.
5. Rules for reporting and voting
The App only works if its information can be trusted. That is why we ask you to:
- Only report spots that you see free at that moment, whether it is the one you are leaving or one you found. The report button uses your current position: do it while standing at the spot.
- Not report false or non-existent spots, or spots where parking is not allowed.
- Vote and mark spots as taken only based on what you saw. Do not vote to raise or lower someone else's reputation, or your own with another account.
- Comply with the laws of the place where you use the App.
The App applies automatic limits: for example, a maximum number of reports within a short time, and a maximum distance for marking a spot as taken. Do not try to get around them.
6. Your information and the license you give us
What you contribute to the App is spot reports, votes and "taken" marks (your "Content").
For the App to work, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive and free license to use, store, display and process your Content. The license is for providing, maintaining and improving the service, which includes showing it to other users.
After some time, we remove from reported spots any data that could link them to you, and we keep them that way, without an author, to calculate service statistics (for example, how long it takes for a spot to be taken in each area). The Privacy Policy explains the time periods.
This license does not allow us to sell your Content or to use it for any other purpose.
7. UEKI content and third-party content
The software, design, name, logo and the rest of the App's own content belong to the Provider and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights over them beyond the permitted use.
The App uses third-party services. Google provides the map, the address of each spot and Google sign-in. In addition, the App opens navigation apps (Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps) when you ask for directions to a spot.
Those services have their own terms and policies, which you are responsible for accepting and following when you use them. We do not control their content or guarantee that it is accurate or available.
8. Moderation, suspension and account deletion
We may hide or remove reported spots and votes that do not comply with these Terms, that are false or abusive, or that we must remove by law. We are not required to review all information and we do not guarantee that we will.
If you do not comply with these Terms, abuse the reporting system or put other people or the App at risk, we may limit features, suspend your account or close it. When reasonable and there is no immediate risk, we will let you know beforehand and you will be able to respond.
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time, from the user menu in the App or by writing to contact@uekiapp.com. When your account is deleted, your data is deleted or separated from the spots you reported, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. Crowdsourced information and risk
The information in the App is contributed by other people and changes within minutes. A spot reported as free may be taken by the time you get there, or may be unavailable for some other reason. We do not guarantee that there will be a free spot, or that the reported information is accurate, complete or current.
The App does not check whether parking is allowed at a spot: always check the signs and local rules. The address of each spot is obtained automatically and may be approximate. The distance shown by the App is a straight line, not the actual route.
You use the information at your own discretion and under your own responsibility.
10. Responsible use and traffic rules
Do not use the App while driving. Before using it, stop in a safe and legal place, or ask a passenger to use it.
Automatic detection asks you whether you left once you have already started driving. Do not answer while driving: the question can wait until you stop, or a passenger can answer it. Your safety and that of others matters more than any report.
You are responsible for complying with the traffic and parking rules where you are: signs, schedules, reserved areas and temporary restrictions. The App showing a spot does not mean you are allowed to park there.
11. Warranties and limitation of liability
We take reasonable care in providing the App, but it is offered "as is" and as available. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that it will work without interruptions or errors, or that it will be fit for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:
- Fines, towing, damage to the vehicle, theft or any other consequence of having parked, or of not having found a spot, based on information from the App.
- Information from other users being inaccurate, late or false.
- Indirect damages, or loss of time, opportunities or profits.
- Failures of third-party services: maps, the phone's location, internet connection or app stores.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, such as liability arising from wilful misconduct, gross negligence or fraud. Nor does it limit the non-waivable rights granted to you by consumer protection laws.
12. Indemnity
If a third party makes a claim against us because you did not comply with these Terms or the law (for example, by deliberately reporting false spots), you agree to hold us harmless from that claim. This applies only to the extent that the damage is a direct consequence of your conduct and that the law of your country allows it. In no case does it require you to answer for damage you did not cause.
13. Privacy and personal data
The App uses your location only while it is open. It uses it for three things:
- Showing you nearby spots and the distance to each one.
- Detecting, within your phone, whether you parked and left.
- Checking that you are close to a spot before marking it as taken.
We do not store your route. We only store the location of the spots you report.
When you report a spot, other people see its location, its address, how long ago you reported it and your reputation. They never see your email, your name or your photo.
The Privacy Policy explains what data we store, why, who we share it with, where it is stored and how long we keep it. It also explains how to request access to your data, correct it or delete it. You can read it from the user menu in the App.
You can revoke the App's location permission from your phone, although some features will then stop being available.
14. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may modify, add or remove features of the App, or stop offering it in whole or in part. If the change is significant or means discontinuing the service, we will give you reasonable notice through the App or by email. We will only skip advance notice if an urgent reason prevents it, such as a security problem or a legal requirement.
We may also update these Terms, for example to reflect new features, legal changes or expansion to other cities or countries. When the changes are relevant, we will let you know and the App will ask you to accept the new version to keep using it. If you do not agree, you can stop using it and delete your account.
15. Governing law, jurisdiction and consumer rights
If you have a problem, write to us first at contact@uekiapp.com: most issues are solved quickly that way.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute is submitted to the ordinary courts of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
If you use the App as a consumer, these Terms do not take away the protection of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Nor do they take away your right to file a claim before the authorities or courts that those laws grant you, including those where you live.
If any clause is found invalid or cannot be applied, the rest of the Terms remains in force.
16. General provisions
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the Provider regarding the use of the App. They replace any previous agreement on that subject, including previous versions of these Terms. They do not create any employment, partnership or agency relationship between you and the Provider.
You may not assign your rights or obligations without our consent. We may assign ours to whoever continues the service, as long as your rights are not reduced.
If at any time we do not exercise a right, it does not mean we waive it.
These Terms are originally written in Spanish. This English version is a translation: in case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
